G. Lyn Hayth III serves as Chief Strategic Officer and Vice Chairman of the Board at Bank of Botetourt. He joined the Bank in 1986 as Vice President following three years with Farm Credit Service and was elected to the Board of Directors in 1990. Hayth served as President of the Bank from 2002 to 2023 and as Chief Executive Officer from 2010 to 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and a Master of Science from Virginia Tech. He is also a graduate of the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

Michelle R. Austin serves as President & Chief Executive Officer at Bank of Botetourt. She began her banking career as a college intern with the Bank in 1991 and joined full-time in 1993. From 2005 to 2023, she served as Chief Financial Officer. Austin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Roanoke College and an MBA from Troy University. She is a graduate of the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

George E. “Ned” Honts IV is Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer at Bank of Botetourt and has been with the Bank for over three decades. He is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College and completed advanced banking programs at the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Honts is active in the community, serving on the Board of the Botetourt County Public Schools Education Foundation, the Executive Board of the Virginia State Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, and as Treasurer and Board Member of the Appalachian Habitat Association. A lifelong resident of Botetourt County, he currently resides in Troutville.

Dustin G. Bays serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer at Bank of Botetourt. He has been with the Bank for over a decade and has worked in the financial industry since 2005. Bays holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Emory & Henry College and an MBA from Union College in Kentucky. He serves as Treasurer for both the Kiwanis Club of Botetourt and the Botetourt Chamber of Commerce, where he also sits on the Board of Directors. Originally from Gate City, Virginia, Bays currently resides in Botetourt County with his family.

Andrew T. Shotwell serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Technology & Innovation Officer at Bank of Botetourt. He has been with the Bank since 1989, dedicating over 35 years to the organization. Shotwell earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Radford University and continued his education at the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Virginia Bankers Association Operations and Technology Committee. A lifelong resident of Botetourt County, Shotwell currently lives in Fincastle.

Barbara G. Anderson serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Administration Officer at Bank of Botetourt. She brings over 35 years of experience in the financial industry and has been with the Bank since 1998. A graduate of the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia, she earned her Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation in 2015. Anderson currently chairs the Virginia Bankers Association Security and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Committee. She resides in Cloverdale.
